Terms and conditions
Last updated 08 July 2026
These terms cover your SCG Lifestyle membership: how you join, how the credits and billing work, and what we each expect when you drive one of our cars. By joining, you agree to them. Read the bits about damage, penalties, and refunds carefully, because those are the ones that catch people out.
Joining the club
Membership is by invitation or approved request. Sending a request doesn't guarantee a place. We review each one and get in touch privately if it's a fit. Membership is personal to you and can't be transferred, shared, or sold. Only the registered member may drive club vehicles.
Your account
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your WhatsApp, so keep that number secure and yours. If it changes, update it in your profile. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.
Fees and billing
Joining involves a one-time joining fee plus a few months of membership paid upfront, shown to you before you pay. After that, membership renews monthly. You can put a card on file so renewals charge automatically through CHIP, or leave auto-renew off and pay each invoice yourself. If a renewal isn't paid, your membership can lapse until it is. All prices are in Malaysian Ringgit and include any tax we're required to charge.
Driving credits
Each month your membership grants a set number of driving credits, which is what you spend to book cars. Credits have an expiry, so use them before they lapse. You can buy extra credit packs if you run low. Credits have no cash value, can't be transferred, and aren't refundable except where these terms say so.
Booking a car
You book through the app. Each car costs a number of credits per day, and bookings need to be made a little in advance so we can prepare the vehicle. The credits are deducted when you book. Pick-up and return times are shown on your booking, and the car is yours for that window only.
Using the car
Drive it as a careful owner would. You need a valid driving licence, and for cars used outside Malaysia you'll need a valid International Driving Permit on file. Don't let anyone else drive, don't use the car for anything illegal or for hire, and bring it back on time, in the condition you got it, with a similar amount of fuel.
Handover and return checks
We photograph the car at handover and again when it comes back, and we may ask you to sign off on its condition. By collecting the car you accept the recorded handover condition. The return photos are what we use to work out whether any new damage happened during your booking.
Damage and penalties
If a car comes back with new damage, we open a damage case, estimate the cost of repair from the photos, and charge it to you. Bringing a car back late past the grace period adds a late-return penalty. We collect these charges either from your security deposit or by raising an invoice you'll need to settle. While a damage case is open, we may pause your new bookings until it's resolved.
Cancelling a booking
You can cancel a booking from the app. Whether your credits come back depends on how far ahead you cancel: cancel before the cut-off shown in your booking rules and we refund the credits; cancel inside that window and they're forfeited. The one-time joining fee is not refundable.
The shop
You can buy credit packs and merchandise through the shop. Physical items ship within Malaysia, with a flat shipping fee shown at checkout. Your order is confirmed once payment clears through CHIP, and you'll get an email with the details. Orders that aren't paid within the checkout window are cancelled automatically, and you'd need to order again.
Suspending or ending membership
You can leave whenever you like. We can suspend or end a membership if fees go unpaid, if a car is misused, or if these terms are broken. If we end your membership for a serious breach, unused credits and prepaid amounts may be forfeited.
Our responsibility
We look after the fleet and try to keep everything running smoothly, but we can't promise a specific car will always be available, and we're not liable for indirect losses such as missed plans or knock-on costs. Nothing here limits any right you have under Malaysian law that can't be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the Malaysian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the club evolves. We'll post the new version here and update the date at the top, and we'll flag anything significant through the app or WhatsApp. Carrying on as a member after a change means you accept it.
