Privacy policy

This policy explains what we collect when you join and use SCG Lifestyle, why we collect it, and what choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose. If something here doesn't sit right with you, talk to us before you sign up.
Who we are
SCG Lifestyle is a private, invitation-only driving club based in Kuala Lumpur. When we say "we" or "the club", we mean the team that runs the membership, the fleet, and this website. Our contact details are at the bottom of this page.
What we collect
We only ask for what we actually need to run the club:
- Who you are. Your full name, WhatsApp number, and email. When you become a member we also record your IC or passport number and driving licence, and your International Driving Permit if you upload one.
- Your membership and billing. Your tier, joining date, credit balance, and payment history. We do not see or store your card number. That goes straight to our payment provider (see below).
- Your bookings. The cars you reserve, dates, pick-up and return times, and the handover and return inspection photos of the vehicle.
- Shop orders. If you buy credit packs or merchandise, we keep the order details and, for physical items, the shipping name, address, and phone you enter at checkout.
- Sign-in codes. We log in with a one-time code sent to your WhatsApp. The code is short-lived and we don't keep it after it's used.
- Basic usage data. Things like your device type and the pages you open, so we can keep the site working and spot abuse.
How we use it
We use your details to check you're eligible to join, verify your identity and licence before you drive, take payment for membership and purchases, manage your bookings, and keep you updated about your account. We also use inspection photos to record the condition of a car before and after a booking, which protects both you and the club if there's a dispute about damage.
Payments
Payments go through CHIP, our licensed payment gateway. When you pay, you enter your card on CHIP's secure page, not ours, and CHIP handles it. If you switch on auto-renew, CHIP gives us a token it can charge for your next cycle. We store that token and the last four digits of your card so you can recognise it. You can turn auto-renew off any time, and we delete the token when you do.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We share it only where it's needed to run the club:
- CHIP, to process your payments.
- The WhatsApp messaging provider that delivers your login codes and booking reminders.
- The courier that delivers a shop order to you, if you buy a physical item.
- Our hosting and email providers, which store and send data on our behalf.
- The authorities, if the law requires it or we need to protect the club or another member.
How long we keep it
We keep your membership and booking records for as long as you're a member, and for a reasonable period after you leave, so we can handle billing, tax, and any dispute that comes up later. Inspection photos and payment records are kept for the same reason. When we no longer need something, we delete it or strip out anything that identifies you.
Your choices
You can view and edit most of your details from your member profile in the app. You can update your WhatsApp number and email, turn off auto-renew, and ask to close your account. If you want a copy of the data we hold about you, or you want it corrected or deleted, message us and we'll sort it out. Closing your account doesn't erase records we're required to keep for legal or accounting reasons.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in while you're on the site. That's it. We don't run advertising trackers or sell your browsing to anyone.
Keeping it safe
We protect your data with the usual safeguards: encrypted connections, access limited to the people who need it, and card handling left to CHIP. No system is perfect, but we take this seriously and we'll tell you if something goes wrong that affects you.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll let you know through the app or WhatsApp.
